The Irish duo of Zach Tuohy and Mark O'Connor will feature in this year's FL Grand Final after the Geelong Cats stormed past the Brisbane Lions in the preliminary final 120-49 at the MCG.

Tuohy contributed 20 disposals and seven marks ahead of what will be a 250th AFL appearance for the Laois native against Sydney Swans, who defeated Collingwood in a thriller on Saturday morning.

The defender recently signed a contract extension with Geelong for another season.

A seven-goal blitz in the third quarter was where the winners exerted their dominance, with Patrick Dangerfield leading the scoring charge with 28 disposals and two goals.

O'Connor came on as a medical sub for Max Holmes (hamstring) in the third quarter.

Dublin's James Madden and Deividas Uosis from Kerry were unused subs for the Lions.

The Swans were 95-94 winners in the second semi-final with a Collingwood comeback just falling short.

The final will be played on 24 September at the MCG.
