Irish players Sinead Goldrick and Ailish Considine have an AFLW Grand Final to look forward to next weekend after the Melbourne Demons and Adelaide Crows recorded preliminary final wins.
The Demons are into the final after a nervy 33-29 win over 2021 champions Brisbane.
Alyssa Bannan's three goals were the standout from the game with Dublin’s Goldrick helping herself to six disposals and six tackles in front of a crowd of 6,436 at the MCG.
There was disappointment for Tipperary’s Orla O’Dwyer though who managed a behind for the Lions but was overall well marshalled by Karen Paxman.
In the other semi-final, Adelaide, beaten finalists in 2021, defeated the Freemantle Dockers 40-26.
Considine was busy for the victors with Ashleigh Woodland top scoring with two goals.
Áine Tighe kicked a behind for Freemantle, but they were well behind at the end.
The AFLW Grand Final will be hosted at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 9 April.
