It wasn't to be for Chloe and Sam Magee at the European Badminton Championships as they were beaten in the quarter-final this morning.
The siblings lost to England's Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith, the number one seeds and world number eight-ranked pairing, on a 21/7, 21/11 scoreline.
They thus miss out on a medal, having previously claimed them at European level 2017, as well as at the European Games in 2015 and 2019.
It brings Irish interest in the competition to an end after Nhat Nguyen lost his last-16 match against Denmark's Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus yesterday.
