RTÉ Sport will have extensive live coverage of the inaugural European Championships in Glasgow and Berlin from tomorrow Friday 3 August until Sunday 12 August.
The first edition of the new multi-sport competition will have more than 4,500 of Europe's best athletes competing in seven sports, with swimming/aquatics events, rowing, gymnastics, cycling, triathlon and golf in Glasgow and athletics in Berlin.
Each day, RTÉ2 will have up to 12 hours of coverage from the Championships with plenty of Irish medal hopefuls in action, including: Thomas Barr and Ciara Mageean on the track in Berlin, Paul and Gary O’Donovan in the lightweight double sculls rowing, swimmer Mona McSharry and gymnast Rhys McClenaghan.
The O'Donovans began their campaign with a victory today, on what was officialy termed 'Day zero'.
During the European Championships, RTÉ Player will live stream all the RTÉ TV coverage and also provide over 130 hours of extra online coverage which will be streamed across two separate Web Exclusive channels. RTÉ Player will also provide catch-up of all the TV coverage and clips of all the big moments.
Saturday Sport and Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1 will have all the latest news from Glasgow and Berlin while RTÉ News sports bulletins and RTÉ.ie/Sport will also keep Irish audiences up-to-date throughout the championships.
