The Irish contingent have bowed out of the World Badminton Championships in China.
Following their first-round win, Sam and Chloe Magee suffered defeat to Chinese Taipei pair of Wang Chi-Lin and Lee Chia Hsin. The final scoreline was 21-11 21-15.
The Irish number one mixed pair beat Fredrik Kristensen and Solvår Flåten Jorgensen of Norway in the opening round, winning in straight games 21-13 and 21-8 to get their campaign off to a dream start, but the Chinese Taipei duo were always going to be tougher opponents.
Meanwhile, Nhat Nguyen performed well in his first-round draw against Kidambi Srikanth of India, but lost out by 21-15 21-16 to the World Number 6 and former World Number 1.
He will now focus on the upcoming European U19 Championships taking place in September.
