Irish Derby to be shown live on RTÉ2

This year's BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby semi-finals and final will be shown on RTÉ2, and online on RTÉ Player and RTÉ.ie.

Irish greyhound racing's most prestigious event live will be broadcast live from Shelbourne Park on Saturday 10 September, and Saturday 17 September.  

Fans across the globe will also have the opportunity to follow the racing action live online both for the semi-final and final nights via RTE.ie and both programmes will be broadcast for 90 minutes each evening.

Speaking about the new agreement, RTE Group Head of Sport, Ryle Nugent, said: “RTÉ Sport is delighted to continue our support of Irish greyhound racing which remains important for us and represents part of our public service broadcasting remit. We look forward to bringing the public all the thrills and spills of the 2016 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby."

Liam Dowling's Ballymac Matt took the honours last year, overtaking Farloe Blitz on the final bend to take the €125,000 top prize.
