St Vincent's claimed a double success at the National Aquatic Centre on Saturday as they took both the Men's and Ladies' Irish Senior Cup water polo titles.

Ran over three days and being held in the Olympic-sized pool at the Abbottstown complex for the first time, Vincent's took the plaudits at the climax of three days' action.

In a cracking Men's final they edged past Sandycove 6-5, after the Ladies had prevailed in another thriller earlier in the day, defeating  Cathal Brugha of Belfast 11-10.

The annual competition attracts participants from all over Ireland, with teams from Galway Dublin and the North battling it out.

It was one to remember for Dublin club Vincent's though, as they took the two big prizes on offer.
