Kieran Behan’s dream weekend in Rio has been capped off by claiming a silver medal in the floor exercise at the Aquece Rio test event at the HSBC Barra Olympic Arena.

Behan and compatriot Ellis O’Reilly secured qualification for Rio 2016 at the weekend, with O’Reilly becoming the first Irish woman to qualify for the Olympics in the sport.

Behan advanced to the final in fourth place after a strong performance on Saturday night, scoring 14.966 on the floor in the qualifiers.

The 26-year-old from London recorded a score of 15.058 and led for a long period before being overtaken by Ukraine’s Oleg Verniaiev. Nestor Abad finished third.
