Dubliner Nhat Nguyen beat England’s Johnnie Torjussen to claim the gold medal at the Under 17 European Championships in Lubin, Poland.
Nguyen, the Irish No 2, behind Olympian Scott Evans, had a comfortable victory over Torjussen, beating him 21-17, 21-11.
Fifteen-year-old Nguyen also secured a bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles with partner Paul Reynolds.
