Zach Tuohy has been named the best player in his position by a selection of AFL coaches.
The Laois man, who plys his trade as a defender with the Carlton Blues, was named at small defender on the AFL Coaches Association's All-Australian team.
The side is described by AFLCA CEO Mark Brayshaw as a "pure" team, in that players are selected based on their normal playing roles.
Tuohy, who won a Leinster minor title with Laois in 2007 and regularly features for Portlaoise in the latter stages of the Laois SFC, played 22 times for the Blues this season, but could not prevent them finishing bottom of the AFL ladder.
