Interim UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been given a 45-day medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission following his title victory over Chad Mendes in Las Vegas last Saturday.

The lay-off has been given to allow McGregor healing time for a a right eyebrow cut sustained in the UFC 189 clash with Mendes.

Mendes came out of the fight in worse physical condition, with a fractured right thumb, and his medical suspension is 185 days unless a doctor clears him for contact prior to that date.

Neil Seery has been suspended for 47 days for an eye laceration following his defeat to Louis Smolka.

However, both Gunnar Nelson and Cathal Pendred have received no suspensions following their bouts.

The most brutal battle on the card was between Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler for the welterweight title, with Lawler successfully defending his crown.

As a result of the clash, McDonald has been suspended for 90 days with no contact for 75 days. Additionally, he must have his fractured nose and foot cleared by a doctor or will have no contest for 180 days.

Lawler has been suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for lip laceration.
