Irish boxer Brendan Irvine booked his place in the quarter-finals of the Light Fly (46-49kg) division at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan this morning.
Irvine beat Bulgarian Tinko Banabakov on a unanimous decision, the judges scoring the fight 30-26, 30-27 and 29-28 in the Belfast man's favour.
19-year-old Irvine will face the host nation's Salman Alizada in the last eight on Monday (9.30am Irish time).
Ceire Smith won her Women's Fly (48-51kg) round of 16 bout against Norway's Camilla Johansen, also on a unaminous decision 40-36, 40-36 and 40-36.
22-year-old Smith will now face Russian Saiana Sagataeva in Monday' quarter-finals.
Irish diver Natasha McManus missed out on a place in the final of the Women's 1m Springboard.
The 17-year-old finished 19th of 29 competitors in the preliminary round with a score of 319.70 from nine dives.
