The Irish men's team are through to the Division Two final of the European Squash Championship and have ensured their promotion to Division One for next season.

In a thrilling semi-final encounter with Denmark, Ireland came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and book their place in the final  courtesy of an 8-7 countback win.

Having lost the both of the opening matches with Arthur Gaskin and Brian Byrne suffering 3-1 defeats, Ireland staged a superb recovery.

Veteran Steve Richardson kept hopes alive with an impressive 3-1 victory over Thomas Laursen before the Irish Under-19 champion Michael Craig claimed a 3-0 win to secure a place in the final.

Ireland will face Finland in Saturday's final.
