Conor McGregor's fight with Cole Miller has been announced as the main event of the UFC's Dublin event on 19 July at the O2 Arena.

The featherweight fight was announced yesterday by the UFC and will be co-headlined by a welterweight bout between Gunnar Nelson and Ryan LaFlare.

Miller called out McGregor six months ago, and said he would relish the chance to take on the Dubliner on his home turf: “All the fans love him. He’s so great. I’ll play whatever role I’ve got to play.

"I’m just trying to fight, trying to make some money, trying to choke some necks and cash some checks. Whatever.”

This will be McGregor's first fight back in the octagon since tearing his ACL joint in August 2013.

The Irishman has yet to comment on the upcoming bout.
