Mark Rohan has won a silver medal in the time trial at the UCI Para-cycling World Championships in Canada.
The defending Paralympic and world champion clocked a personal best time behind Italy’s Luca Mazzone in the H1 handcycling category in Baie-Comeau. William Groulx from the USA took bronze.
Speaking afterwards, the Ballinahown handcyclist said: “Everything went to plan.
“I came out a week early this year, and that really paid off. I rode according to the plan, even above it, as I got a PB out there.
“I’m happy with the performance, and very proud to have an Irish jersey on the podium.”
