Formula One's 2021 season will include a record 23 grands prix, with the planned race in Vietnam dropped in place of a yet-to-be-confirmed circuit.

Vietnam had been set to host its first grand prix on the streets of its capital Hanoi in April, but saw plans shelved following the coronavirus shutdown.

The race has now been scrapped entirely, with next year's calendar announced on Tuesday morning with a date set for 25 April, but no venue announced.

Turkey's Istanbul Park, Imola and Portugal are all in contention as replacements as organisers keep their commitment to the sport's busiest ever campaign.

The 2021 campaign will get under way at Melbourne's Albert Park on 21 March, with the season to conclude in Abu Dhabi on 5 December. The inaugural grand prix in Saudi Arabia will take place a week earlier on 28 November.
