Finn Jari-Matti Latvala takes a 4.7 second lead into the final day of the Rally of Spain after an exciting battle between the World Rally Championship title contenders.

Latvala - in his Toyota Yaris - became the third leader at the end of Saturday's seven stages and he leads five-time defending champion Sebastien Ogier at the end of running on the penultimate day.

Frenchman Ogier, currently second in the drivers' standings behind Thierry Neuville, charged up the leaderboard from seventh to second to strengthen his claim for a sixth consecutive crown.

Friday's leader Ott Tanak dropped off the pace to sit eighth ahead of Sunday's final four stages.

Citroen's Craig Breen slips one place to ninth after another frustrating day at the office. Yesterday, damage to his Citroën C3 rear wing cost him time and the same issue hurt him today.

"I wanted to enjoy this day so much but I haven’t been able to at all," he said afterwards.
