European Rally Championship leader Kajetan Kajetanowicz lies in third spot.
Ireland's Josh Moffett is fourth, with Monaghan driver Sam Moffett fifth.
The action continues on Saturday, with stages in the Belfast, Hillsborough and Banbridge areas, plus another spectator stage in Lisburn.
The rally will finish in Belfast on Saturday evening, with the winner being crowned at Titanic Quarter.
