There will be four Irish crews competing in the first round of the 2015 World Rally Championship in Monte Carlo tomorrow.

Dungannon’s Kris Meeke and his Killarney co-driver Paul Nagle are seeded at number three as they start into their second season in the works Citroen DS3.

Also competing are Wexford’s Eamon Boland, the 2008 Irish Tarmac Rally Champion in his new JRM-built Subaru Impreza.

He will be part of the FIA’s new R4 production category on the occasion of his 10th Monte Carlo Rally. He was 14th in last year's event.

Along with Meeke and Boland, Craig Breen will be hoping for a much longer run in his Peugeot Academy 208 in the WRC2 category, having slid off the road in on the first stage of the opening round of the European Rally Championship (ERC) in Austria.

Monaghan’s Daniel McKenna, the reigning British Rally Champion, will contest the Junior WRC category in his privately owned two wheeled drive Citroen DS3.
