Craig Breen and Paul Nagle have secured victory in the Super 2000 class on Wales Rally GB.
It was a frantic weekend for the Irish crew who took the class lead early on Friday morning, but suffered from mechanical problems during Saturday’s stages.
The pair overcame their gearbox problems and battled through to win by over two minutes from Proton driver Tom Cave.
The win puts Breen’s championship aspirations back on track as he moves to joint second (68 points), level with New Zealander Haydon Paddon.
PG Andersson from Sweden continues to lead after picking up eight points this weekend and is now topping the table with 78.
The Super 2000 championship now moves to tarmac for the final two rounds of the season, World Rally France next month and World Rally Spain in November.
