Rally Ireland 2009 is the first round of the World Rally Championship and extensive coverage will be available across all RTÉ platforms.

THURSDAY 29 JANUARY, Rally Ireland World Rally Championship Preview, RTÉ Two, 8.00pm

Ireland will launch the WRC season in 2009 and RTÉ viewers can enjoy all the action from the four-day event which takes place in the northwest and which will see nearly 40 crews battling it out over 350km and 19 stages. John Kenny has spoken to Citroen's Sebastien Loeb who will be defending the drivers' title for the sixth year in a row. There is also a look back at Rally Ireland 2007, plus a review of the 2008 WRC and a feature piece on the McHale trio of Austin, Gareth and Aaron. Michael Lyster presents, with analysis provided by Eugene Donnelly and Andrew Nesbitt.

FRIDAY 30 JANUARY, World Rally Championship, RTÉ Two, 8.00pm

Michael Lyster presents highlights of the first day of action from the WRC. Analysis provided by Eugene Donnelly and Andrew Nesbitt who between them have six Irish Tarmac Rally titles, with commentary and reporting from Peter Collins and John Kenny.
There will also be an interview with FIA President Max Mosley

Day two of rallying action at the WRC as Michael Lyster presents, with analysis provided by Eugene Donnelly. Commentary and reporting from Peter Collins and John Kenny.
