Team Ireland A1 Grand Prix driver Adam Carroll and rally driver Gareth MacHale have been invited to take part in the 'Race of Champions' at Wembley, writes RTÉ Sport's John Kenny.
The event, which was moved to Wembley from Gran Canaria a number of years ago, attracted a crowd of around 70,000 to the stadium last year and matches drivers from different motorsport disciplines who compete as individuals and two-man national teams.
Carroll, who won the most recent A1 feature race in Malaysia to put Ireland top of the A1 Grand Prix standings after four rounds, will be joined by MacHale, the only Irish driver to take points at two World Rally Championship rounds.
Germany will be represented by Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel, while Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Sebastien Loeb will also take part in the event at Wembley.
