Four-times world champion Sebastien Loeb of France won five of Saturday's six stages of the French Rally to extend his lead over Finn Mikko Hirvonen to 52.4 seconds.
The Citroen driver, who also snatched Friday's six opening stages, could seal his fifth consecutive world title this weekend in Corsica.
Loeb, who has 96 points from 12 rallies, leads Ford's Hirvonen by 12 points in the world championship standings with two races remaining, in Japan and Britain.
Citroen will not be in a position to clinch the manufacturers' title as Loeb's team mate, Spaniard Dani Sordo, pulled out on Friday.
On Saturday, Loeb powered to five stage wins before easing the pace in the last run, won by Hirvonen's team mate Francois Duval of Belgium.
