Irish Red Bull MotoGP Rookie, Josh Elliott arrived in Sachsenring, Germany midweek in preparation for this weekend’s Alice Motoradd Grand Prix Deutschland.

Having endured tough races in Britain and Holland with crashes and machine problems, the 14-year-old is hoping that his fortune will change for the better at a circuit where his road to the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies began almost 11 months ago.

It was in late August last 2007 that Elliott went along to his first selection event having only competed in three big bike races at home.

He has had a very steep learning curve since and despite the numerous problems he has endured along the way, the experience on the international stage has been priceless.

Commenting from the famous East German circuit on Thursday evening, Elliott said: 'This is a fantastic track with steep drops, climbs and blind corners, and I liked it here in the selection event last year.

'I would love to get a good result here for all the magic support I've had from home. Hopefully, the bike is fixed good and I am able to get the best out of it even if it rains.'

The Rookies race takes place at 4.20pm local time on Saturday.
