Ireland's Adam Carroll will start Sunday morning's Sprint race from seventh position in round five of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport in New Zealand.
Despite a solid performance in Friday's practice session, Carroll found the track temperatures much colder than expected in qualifying and he subsequently dropped down to seventh place with New Zealand's Jonny Reid grabbing pole position in front of his home crowd.
In qualifying for the feature race, Carroll struggled to register a quick time, with traffic on the track causing problems. Carroll eventually qualified in 13th spot.
