Fernando Alonso believes McLaren would prefer his team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win the British Grand Prix - but has no complaints.
The world champion and the British rookie are believed to have an uneasy relationship at McLaren.
Alonso joined the team as world champion this season but it is Hamilton who has made the bigger impact and leads the world championship after eight races.
The Spaniard said: 'I think that, yes, they would prefer that and I don't think there will be any argument.
'We will be in England and we have a Spanish driver and an English driver and the Englishman is leading the championship.
'So if he wins it will help the team. The team wanted me to win in Barcelona and they will want Hamilton to win at Silverstone.'
Hamilton has a 14-point advantage over Alonso at the top of the world championship standings.
