Eddie Jordan has voiced his support for Rally Ireland's bid for a place in the World Rally Championship.
The former Formula One magnate competed in several Irish rallies during his racing career.
"It would be some achievement to put Ireland on the world motorsport stage," Jordan commented.
"It would be a huge win if the Rally Ireland team manage to land it and I will give them any support I can."
Jordan joins a list of influential names who have backed the Irish proposal. Marcus Gronholm, Colin McRae and Juha Piironen have all made public statements supporting the cross-border initiative to secure a slot in the 16-round World Rally Championship.
