World champion Michael Schumacher expects a tough time in Budapest for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver has been eclipsed by rivals Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen this season and sees his task getting no easier at the Hungaroring.

Schumacher concedes Ferrari have not had enough time to improve after his disappointing fifth place in Germany.

The 36-year-old said: "Taking into account the results of the last few weeks, it will probably not be an easy race.

"There are only a few days separating Hockenheim and Budapest and so it is unrealistic to expect big strides to have been made. Naturally, we will go on trying to improve the current state of affairs."

The German does not see many opportunities to overtake arising on Sunday and thinks that will have a major bearing on the outcome of the race.

"We will see what we are able to do. I recently stated that I didn't want to make predictions and this stands for Hungary too. We will be trying to do our best."
