Jordan will hand a Formula One test to Dutchman Christijan Albers as they ponder their 2005 driver line-up.

The Silverstone-based team, who secured their short-term future recently with a deal to run Toyota engines next season, are one of three teams without any drivers signed up for 2005.

Nick Heidfeld and Timo Glock finished last season in the cockpit but Jordan are searching for up-and-coming talent and have given Albers his chance to shine.

The 25-year-old, who was supposed to test for Jordan last season before a change of plan, will drive an interim car at Jerez in Spain during a three-day test starting on December 1.

Team boss Eddie Jordan said: "Christijan is a quick and committed up-and-coming talent, as we've seen in German Formula Three and this year in DTM.

"We have a mutual sponsor in Trust so we have been watching his career with interest.

"I have wanted to test him for some time so I am glad that the opportunity has finally come - it's an exciting time for all of us."
