Fisichella walks away from accident

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella walked away unhurt from a major testing accident at the Valencia circuit in Spain today after he crashed out and damaged the rear of his 2002-spec Jordan EJ12. The Jordan driver was taken to the medical centre for a check-up after he spun off the track and hit the barrier between turns two and three on the circuit, the same place where he suffered an accident during another test two weeks ago.

"We are unsure as to the cause of Giancarlo's accident and we are investigating what happened," said Jordan spokeswoman Helen Temple. "He spun off between turns 2 and 3 approaching a sharp, right-hand corner and hit the barriers with the back of his car. We are evaluating whether we can repair the car but Giancarlo may test later in the afternoon."
