Formula One world champion champion Michael Schumacher escaped unharmed after a crash during testing at the Montmelo circuit near Barcelona. Schumacher was driving at over 200 kilometres per hour when the tail end of the car hit a tyre barrier at the side of the track but the 33-year-old walked away unaided.
"It was an accident without any serious consequences," a circuit spokesman told PA International. "The back of the car hit the protective tyre wall. Schumacher got out of the car without any help and didn't need any medical help. Ferrari have yet to confirm whether four-time champion Schumacher will continue with testing tomorrow."
