Champion regards Williams' drivers as threat

World champion Michael Schumacher has tipped his brother Ralf and Juan Pablo Montoya, both drivers with Williams, as the biggest threats to him claiming a record-equalling fifth drivers' title. The Williams pair won four races between them last season as the British-based team enjoyed its best season since Jacques Villeneuve's title-winning campaign in 1997.

Schumacher believes the Williams-BMW team will be the main challengers to Ferrari in 2002 as he suspects McLaren's switch to Michelin tyres could prove a hindrance. "Obviously there is a little question mark concerning McLaren due to them changing tyre company - we don't know how quickly they can adapt to that," pointed out the German.

"But Williams and McLaren are the two big threats as usual, except that Williams is in a much better position, for me, this year than they have ever been. Although they have put their own chances on a lower level, so as not to build up the pressure too much, I think they are going to be very strong and we are going to face a lot of difficulties from them," he added.
