Following two postponements and considerable negotiations over the past month, the Wexford Rally will go ahead, in a single stage format, on Saturday November 17th. The confirmation of the rally will provide Wexford with a major sporting weekend in the middle of November, as the following day sees the County Hurling Final.
However, the GAA decider is not the reason behind the Saturday being chosen as the day of the rally - the choice of Saturday was stipulated by Motorsport Ireland, presumably so as not to clash with events already confirmed to take place on the Sunday.
Meanwhile, the West Cork Rally will also be run as as single stage event later this year. The Cork event will take place on Sunday, December 2 and will feature a 100-mile tarmac special stage and will be run in East Cork.
