The FIA, the world governing body of motorsport, has issued its 2002 calendar and there will be 17 races next year. The Australian race in Melbourne will get the season under way on the 3rd of March, subject to the coroners injury into this season's fatal accident in which a Marshall died.
The San Marino grand prix is subject to a new agreement with the FIA. The governing body will no longer limit the amount of testing teams can carry out.
