Ulsterman Jeremey McWilliams has undergone an operation on his broken collarbone in Belfast and is confident he will be fit to ride in the MotoGP 250cc race at the German Grand Prix on Sunday week. The 37-year-old, who won his first-ever grand prix a fortnight ago, broke his collarbone when he fell from his Aprilia bike during the 250cc race at the British Grand Prix at Donington last weekend.
"I had a plate and eight screws fitted and it's still very sore," explained the Irishman. "I also did some muscle damage but I hope to be fit to ride in Germany," he added.
