Jordan driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been given the all-clear to take part in opening practice in this weekend's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. The German, who missed the Canadian Grand Prix because he was suffering from concussion, underwent medical tests with the Formula One chief doctor Sid Watkins at the track today and was informed that he will be monitored during the practice session and a decision will then be made on whether or not he can continue for the rest of the weekend.
The German driver pulled out of the Grand Prix in Montreal after being involved in a crash during practice on the opening day of the event, having also been concussed following an accident in Monaco a fortnight previously. "The doctor told me that it is not good to have too many concussions in a row," explained Frentzen. "I took a rest, but I feel fine now," he added.
If Frentzen is ruled out of the main race, Ricardo Zonta, Jordan's reserve driver, will once again take the wheel.
