The opening round of the Ford of Ireland Zetec Championship at Mondello Park yesterday saw Glamire's Alan Dwyer takes his first Formula Ford Zetec race win in convincing style.
Starting from pole position he lead from start to finish, setting fastest lap on the way, to beat 2000 Championship runner-up Alan Ring with George McAlpin claiming the final podium placing.
Round 2 of the Ford of Ireland Zetec Championship takes place later today when young chargers Michael Devaney and Charlie Donnelly will be aiming to make their mark.
