Formula 1: Jordan Grand Prix confident of major improveme

The Jordan Formula One team say they are confident that they have overcome early season reliability problems after tests ahead of Sunday's European Grand Prix at the Nuerburgring. Heinz Harold Frentzen finished 6th in Barcelona, but the team have been dogged with problems especially with its new carbon-fibre gearbox. Both Frentzen and Jarno Trulli had a trouble free test in Jerez in Spain this week.

Problems have included the cars’ gearbox would get stuck in sixth gear whilst in the middle of the race thus not allowing the drivers to use the gearbox to its full effect. Jordan have been dogged by this problem for the first part of this season, and have been struggling to maintain their third position from last years finish behind McLaren and Ferrari.
