Mayo and Monaghan emerged victorious from Saturday's second round qualifier double-header in Longford to advance to the quarter-finals of the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies senior football championship.
In the opening game, Monaghan had nine players on the score-sheet during the course of a devastating attacking performance as the Farney County demolished Down by 0-22 to 0-9.
Monaghan had defeated the same opposition by seven points in the Ulster semi-final and last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists cantered to victory in the second half, having led by 0-9 to 0-4 at half-time.
Team manager John McAleer lamented a lack of goals from his side but he will have been pleased by the clinical nature of Monaghan's point-taking at Pearse Park.

Laois stuck close to their opponents for the opening stages of the second half but in the final quarter, a classier Mayo outfit pulled away and Staunton supplied Mullin for the insurance goal with five minutes remaining.
