Liam Rushe could be set for a return to inter-county hurling, with reports the two-time All-Star is back training with Dublin.
The 35-year-old last played for his county in the 2022 Leinster Hurling Championship, where an appearance off the bench against Westmeath was quickly followed by an injury.
The Na Fianna man, who sat out the following season, never officially retired but declined opportunities to go back into the Dublin fold.
Current manager Niall Ó Ceallacháin, who worked with him at Na Fianna last year during the All-Ireland club-winning season, seems to have succeeded in enticing the player back, with the Irish Independent reporting he has been back training for a number of weeks.
Rushe made his Dublin debut under Anthony Daly as a teenager in 2009 and went on to win a league (2011) and Leinster title (2013) in a memorable period for the Metropolitans.
