Clare manager Brian Lohan said it was important to return to the top tier as soon as possible and commended his players' professionalism in completing the job.
The 2024 All-Ireland champions had already confirmed their promotion with a game to spare after their win away to Carlow last weekend but they secured an 100% record with a three-point victory at home to Wexford this afternoon, a result which likely doomed the visitors' chances of joining them in Division 1A next year.
"It was massive. And it was important that it was done straight away. That we're not hanging around there [in 1B] and letting standards drop," Lohan told RTÉ's Sunday Sport afterwards.
"Our players have been very professional in how they've dealt with it. Had to go to Antrim, had to go to Kildare, had to go to Carlow. You'd be expecting us to win those matches but at the same time, you have to go and do it.
"Our aim was to win all the matches and that's what we've done and we'll move on now."
Clare have used well in excess of 30 players in the campaign - a number which included Shane O'Donnell - and picked a fairly experimental line-up for this afternoon's game, with Under-20s Mark Sheedy and Ronan Kilroy starting in goal and in corner back respectively.
Niall O'Farrell lined out at wing-back and Sean Rynne was selected at midfield. Diarmuid Stritch was flanked by Jack Kirwan and Jack O'Neill in the half-forward line.
"You get that opportunity when you're in Division 1B," said Lohan of his experimentation. "It's a different standard obviously to 1A.
"You wouldn't be able to use that amount of players in 1A - you just wouldn't be competitive.
"From that perspective, we used it fairly well and got as much as we can out of it. We'll look forward to the league final and get our preparations right for the Munster championship.
"Ronan Kilroy got his first start there, he's one of the Under-20s. Mark Sheedy is one of the Under-20s. Really positive from their perspective. They all want to play. It's great to give them a home game against good opposition and great to win."
"You wouldn't be able to use that amount of players in 1A - you just wouldn't be competitive"
That Clare's bye-week fell in Round 7 gives them a four-week gap between now and a league final, which is likely against Dublin. After that, there's another fortnight until their Munster SHC opener at home to Waterford on the third weekend of April.
"It's an opportunity to get a bit of work done," says Lohan. "To get the fitness levels up. We want to get more guys back available.
"We've struggled a little bit with injuries, as we did last year. But not as serious as what we were dealing with last year. We'll hope to be getting fellas back fit and back available for selection."
Wexford's defeat means they're almost certainly remaining in Division 1B next year unless relegation threatened Carlow can pull off a seismic shock against Dublin in Round 7.
Rossiter acknowledges that Wexford have plenty of work ahead before championship but isn't unduly downcast about the prospect of remaining in the second tier for another season.
"The overall assessment is [one of] disappointment. I think we were very flat for a lot of it. Gave glimpses of what we can do which is great.
"But the handling of the ball, the giving away of the ball in possession - uncontested, at times, which is worse again.
"So, our hurling was a little bit off so we've a bit of work to do.
"I said from day one, the league for me is all about prep for championship.
"We might have to put up with 1B again next year - and for however long it takes to come out of it. Because it's not easy to get out of it.
"And you get plenty of good games in it. The teams in 1B are good sides. Any given day, you're going to get plenty of match and plenty of physicality.
"I'm happy with the prep our lads are after getting for championship so far. I'm sure that Kildare are going to come down all guns blazing to lay down a marker against us in the league as well. So another good challenge in two weeks time and roll on the championship four weeks later."
Coincidentally, the Yellowbellies will open their Leinster Championship away to Kildare on 18 April.
