Wexford concluded their Division 1A season with a well-earned 1-19 to 1-12 victory over Limerick at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Keith Rossiter's men were full value for the seven-point winning margin and could have won by more only for a wide tally of 21.
Limerick were well off the pace and have further injury worries ahead of the start of the Munster championship next month as Mike Casey went off injured in the first half.
It was a tight game in the opening 20 minutes with Limerick leading by 0-06 to 0-05 but Wexford went in at the break leading by two points.
Scores from Adam English, Gearoid Hegarty, Diarmaid Byrnes and Aaron Gillane had put Limerick in a good position after 10 minutes but Wexford were level at 0-05 apiece by the 18th minute with Lee Chin eventually hitting form from frees.
Gillane restored Limerick’s advantage but it was their last score for a total of 16 minutes as Wexford took firm control.
Kevin Foley, Chin, Conor Hearne and Cathal Dunbar all hit the target before Byrnes responded for Limerick just before the break, but they still trailed 0-09 to 0-07 at the turn.

Rory O’Connor and Jack Redmond got the scoring underway in the second half but Limerick struck back with a Shane O’Brien goal and Tom Morrissey levelled the game for a third time moments later.
However, Wexford were soon back in the ascendancy thanks to a Foley three-pointer and Rossiter’s men took off from there.
Cian Molloy, Dunbar, Hearne and Seamus Casey all raised white flags as Wexford dominated the contest in the final quarter to earn a seven-point winning margin.
Limerick rallied at times in the second half but will be worried about where they are currently at in terms of preparation for the championship ahead of that opener with Tipperary at Semple Stadium on 20 April.
