Kildare picked up their second successive Allianz Hurling League Division 2 win with a comfortable 2-25 to 0-17 win over Derry at Celtic Park.
The game was over as a contest at the break as the Lilywhites racked up an impressive 1-17 to their opponents' six points – Jack Sheridan with the goal in the 23rd minute as he capitalised on a slip in the Oakleaf defence.
Christy McNaughton was offering some scoring response for the home side, but it was all too easy for Kildare with Darragh Meville, who finished with 1-06, hitting a second goal late on while David Qualter also landed 10 points.
In Division 3, London edged a high-scoring clash with Mayo, heading home from the Connacht GAA centre of excellence with a 2-16 to 1-17 win.
The Exiles made a fast start and carried that lead into the break as they led 1-08 to 0-06.
An early second-half goal gave them a six-point cushion and although Mayo halved that with a goal of their own 15 minutes from time, the Exiles held out.
In Division 4, there were home wins for Longford and Monaghan against Lancashire and Warwickshire respectively.
Reuben Murray struck an early goal for Longford but Andrew Shanahan responded with a green flag for the visitors as Longford led 1-09 to 1-05 at the short whistle.
Longford stole a march with a second goal in the 56th minute through Dylan Hennessy and while Eoghan Clifford again responded with a goal, Longford won out 2-12 to 2-10.
Meanwhile, Monaghan were 3-19 to 0-15 winners against Warwickshire in Clones – Shane Slevin, Emmet Walsh and Niall Garland with the goals.
