Jake Morris hit 1-04 as Tipperary cruised past Dublin at Parnell Park in the opening round of the league.
Liam Cahill's side went nine ahead during the first half but an early surge after the interval had the Dubs back to within five.
The accuracy of Tipp — who hit 2-11 from their final 14 shots of the day — allowed them to pull clear and win by 11.
For Micheál Donoghue, a selector with today’s opponents a decade ago, it’s back to the drawing board after another convincing loss — following up their recent Walsh Cup semi-final defeat to Galway.
The game had started so well for the Dubs. Brian Hayes won the throw-in break, soloed through the Tipp defence and had the first score inside the opening few seconds.
It was the only time in the game that Dublin were ahead though, as the visitors poured on the pain in the next eight minutes.
Midfielders Eoghan Connolly and Willie Connors, half-back Bryan O’Mara and four frees shared between Gearoid O’Connor and goalkeeper Rhys Shelly made it a 0-07 to 0-02 lead.
A hugely-physical Tipp side dictated the flow of the game but Conor Burke and a Cian O’Sullivan free stemmed the tide somewhat.
While the Premier’s inside trio didn’t get a score until injury time of the half, they were making the ball stick, recycling it to the half-forwards, and winning frees.
Paul Crummey was one of few winning primary ball at the other end, while young starlet Diarmuid Ó Dúlaing carried a threat throughout.
Conor Bowe, Connolly, Craig Morgan and Alan Tynan then hit scores for Tipperary as they marched 0-13 to 0-05 in front by the 21st minute, with O’Connor splitting the posts from further placed balls.
Connolly had a tame goal effort blocked before Sean Ryan scuffed the rebound, and at the other end Morgan did well to foil Ó Dúlaing who tried to latch onto a break in the Tipp square.
Conor Burke and Sean Currie eventually brought the Dublin tally up to nine before the short whistle, but the home side spent much of the half chasing shadows.

John McGrath, O’Connor and Jake Morris all got their names in brackets, as the Blue and Gold found themselves 0-17 to 0-09 ahead.
Having struggled on the puckout in the first half, it was Tipp who had difficulties with their restarts after the break.
It gave Dublin a foothold, but so too did an increased work-rate, which led to forcing Tipp into conceding frees through O’Connor, Johnny Ryan (both for taking steps) and Bowe (steps, and then for three catches).
O’Sullivan missed a couple of frees that he would ordinarily slot over, but still the St Brigid’s man was key to the revival — short-lived though it may have been.
A goal from Sean Ryan on 43 minutes ended all of that, as the Templederry forward slipped past new Dublin captain Paddy Smyth and rifled a ball low to the net to put the Premier nine ahead.
Fergal Whitely and Sean Currie replied for the Blues, but it was game over once Morris found his groove.
Willie Connors lofted a precise stick-pass over the Dublin defence, Morris collected, then ran at the ’14 before stretching the net.
The Nenagh man added the next two points to put the result beyond doubt with ten minutes to go, although the hosts kept pushing.
Davy Keogh drew a fine save from Shelly, who then stopped a 21-yard free from O’Sullivan in the next minute, before Whitley and Crummey raised white flags.
In truth, it was all too easy for Tipperary ahead of next week’s home clash with Galway.
