London made it a miserable afternoon for Meath GAA with a two-point in the Christy Ring Cup in Ruislip.

The Exiles, who suffered a 10-point loss to Sligo in Round 1, snatched victory in injury-time with points from Ronan Crowley and a sideline cut from Jack Goulding to seal a 4-17 to 1-24 win.

The sides were deadlocked 2-07 to 0-13 at the break, Conor O'Carroll and Niall Broderick plundering goals for the hosts, though Meath hit seven points on the spin after the Broderick goal, with Crowley hitting a free to level it at the break.

The third quarter belonged to the visitors with Damien Healy firing a goal after 40 minutes. While Dylan Dawson responded for London, Meath stretched four points ahead during a dominant spell. It was Fiachra O'Keeffe's goal that levelled the game at 4-10 to 1-19 with 14 minutes remaining and the Exiles stayed strong down the stretch, Crowley hitting six points, two from play to steer them home.

Elsewhere in the Christy Ring Cup this afternoon, it was plain sailing for Derry at home to Sligo, running out 4-27 to 2-13 winners.

Derry had been frustrated in the opening round, being held 2-20 apiece against Tyrone in Omagh, while Sligo had made light work of London in Markievicz Park. But the form-book was overturned this week, with Derry rampant throughout.

Cormac O'Doherty was a leading figure in the victory, landing 1-12 in total, including 1-05 without reply during a stunning second half spell. John Mullan (1-05), James Friel (1-01) and Ris Mac Somhaile (1-00) also notched goals in a fabulous display.

Sligo, who trailed by seven at the break before things took a turn for the considerably worse in the second, did rustle up through two first half through Eddie O'Donaghue, while Andrew Kilcullen scored 0-08 in total but it was a dismal afternoon in Owenbeg for the Connacht outfit.

In the day's only Lory Meagher game, Longford easily accounted for Warwickshire in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, winning 2-23 to 1-09 in the end.

The midlanders, who lost away to Lancashire in their opener, led by a whopping 0-19 to 0-03 scoreline at half-time.

Reuben Murray and Paddy Lynam fired two goals in quick succession early in the second half and for a time, the score stood at 2-21 to 0-03. Warwickshire did rally somewhat late on, Niall Eames registering a consolation goal in a comprehensive defeat.
