Brian Lohan says his players delivered a response this afternoon as they demolished Wexford in the Allianz Hurling League at Chadwicks Wexford Park.
The Banner managed six goals against a Yellowbelly side that looked all at sea trying to deal with the onslaught, as they got back to winning ways after defeat to Limerick the last day.
While the loss to the All-Ireland champions was only six points on paper, Clare had been outclassed for an hour before late scores put some respectability on the scoreboard.

But there was no such risk of that today as Lohan's charges burst out of the blocks. By the time David Reidy fired in their second goal on 15 minutes they were already leading their hosts by double scores.
Further majors from Aidan McCarthy and Tony Kelly had the contest realistically put to bed before half time.
"We came down last night and focused fairly well for the game," Lohan told RTÉ's Sunday Sport afterwards.
"We were well tuned in for the game. [We] didn't know the number of personnel that Wexford were missing, but at the same time, we had to look after ourselves.
"We're happy enough with the performance. We turned over a couple of balls early on, conceded what we would describe as soft scores. On occasion our touch let us down a bit, but that's going to happen.
"Overall the players responded well. [We were] under a little bit of pressure coming into it, not because we lost the last day, but because our performance was so poor.
"Good that the players responded and good to get a win."
A further two goals in the second half would help Clare to an eventual 22-point margin.
From Lohan's Wexford counterpart Darragh Egan, there were no complaints about the result. Egan, in the second year of his term, was left frustrated by what he saw as some basic errors by his team.

The Tipperary native is without some of his biggest stars - Dee O'Keefe, Rory O'Connor, Lee Chin, Liam Ryan and goalkeeper Mark Fanning - but he suggested that some fringe players might have blown their chance to be part of the squad come championship time.
"We definitely coughed up four goals that we shouldn't have; coming out with the ball, and getting turned over," he said.
"Clare were very efficient. They scored 4-17 in the first half and that's not acceptable from our perspective. I must say, they were very sharp.
"We knew we were going to be under pressure today. We were down a few bodies but the whole thing for the last four months was about building a panel, to see who we have.
"Some lads put their hands up, have played consistently over the last few weeks; other lads came in today and didn't perform. Unfortunately, the nature of the game is that they mightn't see action for the rest of the year.
"That's the way it has to be."
