Clare's Peter Duggan and Rory Hayes and Galway forward Cianan Fahy have all been cleared to play in their respective All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals against Wexford and Cork on Saturday next.
RTÉ Sport has confirmed that the trio - who chose not to accept proposed suspensions handed down by the GAA's Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC) - were cleared to play by a Central Hearings Committee (CHC) this evening.
The Banner duo were facing a proposed one-match ban following separate incidents during the Munster final against Limerick. Both appeared before the CHC, where the proposed ban was overturned.
In addition, Fahy has also successfully appealed a proposed two-match ban for an alleged stamping offence in the Leinster hurling final.
The three incidents were missed by the respective referees, so leading to an investigation by the CCCC.
It is also being reported that the three players were cleared based on a technicality, flagged by Galway GAA, which was that the meeting which proposed the suspensions was held online. Such a convening does not constitute a meeting of the CCCC or any GAA sub-committee.
