Aaron Gillane has passed a fitness test and will start the All-Ireland SHC final against Waterford, while Neil Montgomery has been drafted into the Deise team for Sunday's decider.

The Treaty forward was rated as 50/50 to make it by management earlier this week after shipping a heavy challnege in the semi-final victory over Galway that saw the 24-year-old hospitalised.

The Patrickswell man, however, has recovered sufficiently and manager John Kiely has stuck with the same side that saw off the Tribesmen last time out.

His Waterford counterpart Liam Cahill has made one change in personnel, with Abbeyside’s Montgomery rewarded for his fine showing off the bench against Kilkenny in the semi-final victory.

He takes the place of Jake Dillon who drops to the bench.

Just a third of the starting Waterford team began the 2017 final, while for Limerick, 13 of the side that saw off Galway in the 2018 decider have been given the nod again, with injured pair Mike Casey and Richie English missing out although English is named on the bench.

Limerick: Nicky Quaid; Sean Finn, Dan Morrissey, Barry Nash; Diarmaid Byrnes, Declan Hannon, Kyle Hayes; Darragh O’Donovan, William O’Donoghue; Gearoid Hegarty, Cian Lynch, Tom Morrissey; Aaron Gillane, Seamus Flanagan, Graeme Mulcahy.

Waterford: Stephen O'Keeffe; Ian Kenny, Conor Prunty, Shane McNulty; Calum Lyons, Tadhg de Búrca, Kevin Moran; Jamie Barron, Kieran Bennett; Jack Fagan, Neil Montgomery, Stephen Bennett; Dessie Hutchinson, Austin Gleeson, Jack Prendergast.
