Anthony Cunningham has been reappointed Galway hurling manager for next season, which will be his fifth in charge.

Cunningham has led the Tribesmen to two All-Ireland finals since taking over for the 2012 season. His side lost both, including this year's decider to Brian Cody's Kilkenny.

The St Thomas' man won two All-Irelands as a player but Galway have not lifted Liam MacCarthy since the team Cunningham played on in 1988.

The Galway County Board also ratified Kevin Walsh as the county football manager. Walsh was appointed on an initial three-year-term a year ago.

All-Ireland winning minor hurling manager Jeffrey Lynskey was also reappointed.
