Kilkenny legend Henry Shefflin has joined the panel for the Sunday Game ahead of the 2015 championship.

Long-recognised as one of the finest hurlers in history, Shefflin retired earlier this year with 10 All-Ireland titles, 13 Leinster SHC titles, six national league titles and 11 All Star awards.

He was named Hurler of the Year on three occasions.

Shefflin said that he was thrilled to to be joining the panel.

“I grew up watching The Sunday Game so it’s a real thrill to be joining the renowned team of panellists this summer and I’m excited to be a part of RTÉ Sport’s team covering the All Ireland Hurling Championship on both television and radio.”

RTÉ Group Head of Sport Ryle Nugent added: “I’m delighted to welcome a true legend of the game in Henry Shefflin to our already stellar line-up of panellists across our comprehensive GAA Championship coverage.”

RTÉ Sport’s The Sunday Game coverage will be launched officially on RTÉ Radio 1’s Sunday Sport on 10 May in a special live broadcast coming from Ballyhale Shamrocks in Kilkenny and Austin Stacks in Tralee.
